TIES are back in fashion, more and more men are wearing ties for nights out
Thanks to stars such as Jude Law, Pete Doherty, Russell Brand, Killers frontman Brandon Flowers and Alex Kapranos, according to a report which says sales have increased in the last three years.
Britons spent more than £160 million on ties last year as they made a comeback according to research.
market analysts Mintel say ties are experiencing something of a renaissance.
Sales have made an impressive comeback and are expected to be worth as much as £162 million this year, British men are smartening up when heading for a night out. Influenced by the "Mod" revival in sharp suits and ties, headed by movie stars such as Jude Law and music stars, including, Franz Ferdinand Pete Doherty,and Preston from the Ordinary Boys, men now reach for a tie before heading for a night out

Mintel says men are opting for more appealing ties, with more than one in three (37 per cent) having bought a silk tie last year, compared with just one in five (20 per cent) who had bought a polyester one.
Ties represent over half of the £297 million market for men's accessories.
